Detroit-muscle lovers rejoice. Ford India have confirmed that they will be launching the sixth generation Ford Mustang GT in India on the 28th of January. Which is about 8 days from today on the occasion of their 50th anniversary. The Mustang will be lighter, stiffer and will come with much improved interiors and space. This is also the first Mustang to ever come with the a right hand drive set up.

Engines on offer will be the 296bhp 3.7-litre V6 engine. Ford will most likely not launch the a 306bhp 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine and the 437bhp 5.0-litre V8 in India to begin with.

India can also expect all the trim that Ford offers on the Mustang internationally which means, that you could have your Mustang with fully independent front and rear suspension, high-performance brakes with four-piston calipers, 19-inch alloy wheels, HID headlamps, puddle lamps with Mustang logo projection, an infotainment system with a 2.8-inch touchscreen, ambient lighting and four driving modes.

We expect the Mustang GT V6 to break cover at the Rs 60 lakh mark roughly, since it will only be brought in as a CBU. The car will be on display shortly after at the Indian Auto Expo next month.
