Aravind KP is out of the Dakar. The debutant failed to cross the first way point on today’s Day 4 stage as a result of a crash 40km into the stage. Doctors at the medical centre are suspecting a possible shoulder injury but he is otherwise fine.
Earlier he had crashed on Day 2, in the 29km prologue stage, suffering two broken bones in his left palm. Undaunted, he fought on, finishing the 275km stage the following day. He even towed his teammate Metge for over 70km through the stage till the bivouac, the latter having suffered a blown engine.
