Bonneville allows plenty of customisation

We don’t want customisation to be an observer sport. We want it done with safety and warranty”, say Triumph officials. The Bonneville range has 470 new accessories spanning style kits, exhausts (there’s a new partnership with Vance & Hines), luggage and that’s not adding the new clothing range (t-shirts, jackets, jeans, gloves and more). Normally, we wouldn’t devote much space to this subject but the potential to customise your Bonnie is incredible and you can totally transform your bike in to a Scrambler, or a full-on ’70s racer or even get inspired by Marlon Brando’s, David Beckam’s and Steve McQueen’s bikes. And to make sure you don’t muck it up, Triumph has a set of Inspiration kits to guide you as to what is possible. The race Inspiration kit is fabulously gorgeous adding to the standard Thruxton R a cockpit fairing, lower clips ons, single seat, rear mudguard removal kit, smaller LED taillamps, V&N exhaust and a phenomenally cool leather tank strap – and all these accessories are dealer fitments, negating the need to homologate each variant. It looked so impossibly cool that even journalists were seen asking about the price. That’s something to look forward to at the Auto Expo.
