Bentley expands its Bentayga line-up with the addition of twin-turbo V8 petrol engine

The Bentley Bentayga SUV is now offered in a new engine option. The 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine churns out 542bhp and 770Nm of maximum torque. The SUV comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a full time all-wheel drive system. The car can hit a ton at a claimed 4.5 seconds, going all the way up to 290 kmph before maxing out.

The Bentayga is now shod with 400mm and 380mm ventilated discs as standard. It also gets the optional 440mm and 370mm carbon ceramic discs brakes at the front and rear respectively; which provides the car with total braking torque of 6000Nm. The SUV also gets front brake calipers painted in red which add more appeal to its sporty character. It comes with an option of 11 wheel designs that include a 22-inch five spoke wheel in black colour with polished finish. The twin-quad exhaust pipes seen on the Bentayga Diesel, now makes its way here as well.

The SUV gets high gloss carbon fibre finished interiors, wood and hide trimmed steering wheel. The SUV comes with four, five and seven seat configurations. It also gets an eight inch touch screen infotainment system with navigation which offers up to 30 languages and a 60GB hard drive. At rear, the passengers get the Bentley Entertainment Tablet which is a removable 10.2-inch android device that is equipped with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Customers can choose between three audio configurations like Bentley Standard Audio, Bentley Signature Audio and Naim for Bentley Premium Audio. The latter comes with 18 speakers and 1950 watt output.

Driver aids in the SUV include Bentley Dynamic Ride to reduce body roll, traction control, hill descent control stability control and start-stop technology. Optional features include park assist, traffic sign recognition, pedestrian warning, reversing traffic warning that uses radar tech to detect crossing traffic and a top view camera that displays surroundings of the car.
