Bajaj isn’t going to be present at the Indian auto expo next month but just before the biennial motor show, the company wants to cash in on the media attention with its new V range of motorcycles. The commuter range is said to co-exist alongside the Discover range but will bear a sportier silhouette.

Bajaj revealed a teaser video for the new motorcycle range that shows that the company has taken over the famed but decommissioned aircraft carrier INS Vikrant that was on its way to the scrap yard, and recycled its metal to build the V range. The motorcycle will also feature a logo on the tank commemorating the aircraft carrier.

While it is clear that there is a hint of sporty styling, it will be targeted at the commuter segment. The V range will come with air-cooled engines, a kick starter, telescopic forks up front and twin shocks at the rear. The V range gets disc brakes and a low saddle height for short riders.

Stay tuned on February 1 for further details.
