Bajaj unveiled the V15 right before Auto Expo and created quite a buzz with their new motorcycle. Apart from the fact that it is a rather good looking commuter bike, its claim to fame is that the fuel tank is forged from metal sourced from the decommissioned INS Vikrant, an aircraft carrier from the Indian Navy. Bajaj have now launched this bike for a price of Rs. 62,000 (ex-showroom Delhi)

The Bajaj V15 is powered by a 149.5cc, single cylinder 2 valve engine. It isn’t designed to be a particularly fast bike and is essentially a stylish city commuter. The 11.8bhp and 13Nm are more than enough to potter around in the city, nevertheless it is 2bhp down on the 150cc bikes form the Bajaj Discover range. The bike gets 33mm telescopic front forks and twin-spring loaded gas filled hydraulic shocks at the rear. Braking duties are handled by 240mm disc brake in the front while the rear gets a 130mm drum brake.

The design of the bike is reminiscent of a cafe racer, though it is slightly more upright. Apart from a stylish two-tone paint scheme, the seat height is rather low and it even gets a rear seat cowl to add to the sportiness. The bike features plenty of muscular lines and the wide 120mm wide rear tyre make it a butch looking bike.

Deliveries of the Bajaj V15 will begin in March 2016.
