The Renault Duster has been one of Renault’s most successful launches in India, its compact dimensions practicality and go-anywhere attitude (read our Border Challenge Series here) made it easy to love. Renault have upped the stakes and unveiled an updated version of the Duster at the Auto expo in Delhi. The new Duster should make it to showrooms later this year.

On the face of it, the Duster gets a nip and tuck, with a completely re-designed front end with some tweaks making their way to the rear end as well. The new Duster gets electronically folding as well as adjustable ORVMS with turn indicators mated in. In the back, the existing light cluster has been replaced by what Renault are calling waterfall LED turn lights. In the front the dated headlamps have been revised for a new set, christened the Hawkeye cluster. The Duster will also get new Fog lamps, gun-metal finished five spoke alloys and “Kayak” roof rails. Although, the jury remains out on whether you can actually carry a Kayak on the roof or not.

The Duster gets some touch ups on the inside as well, the new Duster will be available in three new interior trims, an all black option for AWD model as well as cedar wood and fabric interior for the premium models. The centre console a revamp and will feature a new Media-Nav unit, automatic air conditioner and a much needed reversing camera with guidelines.

Electronic wizardry wise, the Duster comes with a barrage of acronyms, some of which it carries forward from existing models, including ABS, EBD and ESP. Dual front air-bags and hill-assist will also continue to be available.

Big news however, is that the Duster will be available with an 6-Speed AMT gear-box option making it easier to get around in the city, and will be sold under the Duster Easy-R (Really? Easier. We see what you did there Renault) moniker.
