Mercedes-Benz has grand plans for the upcoming Auto Expo. India’s leading luxury carmaker has announced its product showcase for the Expo, a display that will include its luxurious S-Class Cabriolet, Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard, GLC SUV and for racing enthusiasts, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team’s FIA World Championship title winning F1 W06 Hybrid. The range will also comprise of other vehicles from the Mercedes-Benz Indian and global portfolio.
Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, Roland Folger said, “The Auto Expo is the much awaited platform for manufacturers, automotive enthusiasts and customers and it has been growing in importance with each edition. This year Mercedes-Benz will showcase its range of products and we are excited to unveil the much awaited GLC and the S-Class Cabriolet.”
Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet
The S-Class cabriolet is based on the S-Class coupe and comes with four seats. Using aluminium instead of steel, Mercedes have managed to keep the bodyshell weight similar to the coupe. It gets a a three-layer soft top that can be raised and lowered inside 20 seconds and at speeds of up to 60kmph. The convertible gets an Aircap wind blocker, Airscarf neck warmer and a climate-control system that that keeps a consistent temperature regardless of the roof position.
Mercedes-Benz GLC
The GLC is an SUV based on the C-class and will sit snugly between the GLA and the new GLE. The front is based heavily on the new C-class while the inside echoes the C with a panoramic sunroof giving it an airy ambience. Internationally the GLC comes with a choice of two diesel engines – 2.1-litre diesel and a 3.0-litre V6 petrol. Out of this expect the diesel to make it to India.
Mercedes-Maybach S 600 Guard
The S-guard is an armoured S-Class and comes the highest levels of ballistics protection which in layman terms means it can withstand grenade attacks and all kinds of firepower. all this comes without compromising on luxury features or performance with a 530bhp V12 petrol engines that comes with a humongous 830Nm of torque.
Since Mercedes-Benz India’s inception, the company has achieved its highest sales volume in India by registering sales of 13,502 units in the period of January to December 2015. According to company 2016 is the year of ‘Wining’ and they started the year by launching Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 AMG Coupe with 12 more new models will follow.
