DSK Benelli will be out in full force at next month’s auto expo with four new motorcycles slated for India. First showcased at EICMA, these motorcycles mark the Italian marque’s bullish intent for our market.
DSK Benelli TNT Tornado 302
The DSK Benelli Tornado 302 will be revealed at Auto Expo 2016 and it happens to be the first fully faired motorcycle from the manufacturer for the Indian market. Tornado 302 will compete with newly launched Yamaha R3 along with Ninja 300 and KTM RC390. Style of the motorcycle is drawn from the DNA of the TRE 900 and TRE 903. The motorcycle is powered by a 300cc, parallel twin-cylinder with six-speed gearbox, which produces 34.8bhp at 12000rpm and 27Nm of torque at 9000rpm. For braking, the bike will get dual 260mm discs up front, and a 240mm disc at the rear, similar to the TNT 300 though new is the anti-lock braking system. The Tornado 300 will share cycle parts with the TNT 300 so when launched, we expect it to be priced around 30 grand over the TNT 300
DSK Benelli Leoncino
The Leoncino is DSK Benelli’s take on the modern scrambler. Its 500cc twin cylinder engine is modern on the inside and looks totally retro on the outside. It will come with a 499.6cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled mill makes around 47bhp 8500rpm and 45Nm at 4500rpm mated to a six-speed transmission
This Benelli will also, gets upside-down forks on the front, and a monoshock at the rear and For braking 320mm discs on the front and a 260mm disc along with the anti-lock braking system. Leoncino is a an Italian word which means ‘Lion Cub’. It gets its name from a line of lightweight Benelli models which were introduced in the 1950s. The Leoncino will be showcased at Auto Expo and is expected to launch in second half of the year priced around Rs 4 lakh.
DSK Benelli TRK 502
DSK Benellli has pulled the wraps off the TRK 502 few weeks ago at Millan Motor Show 2015 and now DSK Benelli has confirmed the Indian arrival of TRK 502. By the looks of it, it is intended to be a dedicated touring motorcycle. It has all sorts features to make it conducive to touring.
The motorcycle has got 500cc, inline twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 46.67bhp of maximum power at 8,500 rpm and 45Nm of peak torque at 4,500 rpm. The transmission is a six-speed unit. The bike is also equipped with basic adventure-tourer features like 230 mm of ground clearance, 210 kg of kerb weight, a tall windscreen, an LED headlamp, a 20-litre fuel tank, a long-travel inverted telescopic fork and an adjustable monoshock suspending the steel trellis frame, a dual disc brake upfront, a single disc brake at the rear, and an optional saddle bags. Benelli TRK 502 is expected to be priced under Rs 5 lakhs (ex-showroom) as it will be imported as a CKD.
