Audi has uncovered a special edition version of the R8 V10 Plus to celebrate its victorious history and a strong endurance record at the ‘Ring. Paying homage to the colossal 323 victories amassed since 2009, there will be only 24 models assembled which are said to be produced for Germany only. The special edition from the brand with four rings will be called as the ‘Selection 24h’.

The heart of the special edition Selection 24h will incorporate the same 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 mill with over 600 horses at your right foot. It does a top speed of 329kmph and a sprint of 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds, same as the R8 Plus model.

And because the Audi R8 V10 Selection 24h and the race prepped GT3 R8 LMS racer version were built together, only the exteriors and a few other features differ. Like the special Suzuka Gray exterior paint, engine compartment cover, rear wing, diffuser which are composed of carbon fibre with a gloss finish, matte ‘R8 24h’ logos applied to the similarly glossy carbon fibre side blades, and the standard dynamic steering, adaptive dampers and laser lighting.

The V10 plus selection 24h is will be priced at €229,000 (Rs 1.74 crore) in Germany. It’s global unveiling will be at this year’s Nürburgring 24 Hours event which runs from May 26 to May 29.
