The Audi A6 Matrix was first revealed to our Indian shores in the latter half of 2015 but it came only in the diesel engine variant. Audi India did shun away from having a V6 motor or even a petrol engine for that matter suggesting the Indian buyer didn’t want it. Now however they have given the Indian buyer a petrol variant. The new Audi A6 Matrix 35 TFSI.

Powered by a 1.8-litre TFSI engine which produces 190 horses and 320Nm of torque, the A6 is propelled by its front wheels from naught to a hundred in under 8 seconds. The engine still comes with the seven-speed S tronic transmission giving the Quattro equipped eight-speed Tiptronic a miss yet again.

The Matrix trim offers a refreshed MMI infotainment system, a 14-speaker Bose Surround Sound system and its revolutionary Matrix lighting technology. The car’s headlamps are illuminated by 19 LEDs each which have an intelligent oncoming traffic sensor to control the lighting exposure. Also found on the A6 Matrix are the dynamic turn indicators like the ones found in the R8.

Furthermore you will get 18” forged aluminium alloy wheels and adaptive air suspension, which changes the stiffness of the suspension based on the driving mode selected. Amongst the eight airbags used, two of which have been positioned to safeguard the rear passengers.

Priced at Rs. 52.75 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi, the Audi A6 Matrix faces tough challenge with the like of the recently launched BMW 520i and the Mercedes-Benz E200, both of which are attractively priced.
