It is painted in a glossy Race Red with white stripes and shares its colour scheme with the number one MkIV Ford GT40 that was driven by American drivers Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt. In addition to the new paint job, there are other visual additions that make it special. The car wears number one decals, white side stripes, and ‘FORD’ decals in front of the rear wheels. There are new 20-inch forged aluminium wheels with a silver satin finish and black lug nuts.
Inside, you are greeted by red accent stitching, red seat belts, anodized gray paddle shifters, new leather seat trimmings for the carbonfibre seats, exposed matte carbon fibre door sills, and a matte carbon fibre centre console, just to make it a bit more special. Each ’67 Heritage Edition will receive its own serialised identification plate on the dashboard.
Mechanically, there are no changes over the standard Ford GT.
The car as Ford says, will only be available in limited numbers and it would be priced at a slight premium above the regular Ford GT. So, if you have booked your Ford GT, this might be an exciting addition to make. After all, not too many cars have such a rich racing heritage, and show it off on their modern day supercars.
