Jehan Daruvala will continue his contract with Carlin Team to race in the 2018 Formula 3 season.
He made his debut with Carlin Team last season.
Jehan made his debut in the 2017 FIA F3 European Championship in April, where he made history by becoming the first Indian to win a race in the series, replicating Narain Karthikeyan’s success in the British F3 Championship back in 1999. Jehan was placed in sixth position overall in the championship at the end of 30 races.
“It has been a fantastic year racing with Carlin. Everyone in the team is very committed to achieving the best possible results. I am happy to be working with them once again and look forward to a successful year” said Jehan Daruvala.
Earlier in 2017, Jehan won the New Zealand GP joining racing legends including the likes of Jack Brabham, Stirling Moss, John Surtees and Bruce McLaren. The Toyota Racing Series which happened earlier this year ended on a happy note for Jehan, as he bagged two wins, four pole positions, nine podiums from 15 races and two fastest laps.
“It is great news that Jehan remains for us in FIA Formula Three next season – he’s been a fantastic addition to the team this year and his results as a rookie have been impressive. He’s already a race winner in the series and no doubt has the ability to add more wins and pole positions to his achievements over the course of 2018”, said racing director Trevor Carlin of Carlin Team.
The 2018 FIA Formula 3 is set to commence in May next year at the street circuit of Pau, France. The 2018 season will have 10 rounds across eight countries in Europe.
