After their stellar performance last year, finishing third in the constructor standing, Williams would be looking at an even stronger finish this year. In fact, even at the end of the last season the grove based squad had shown indications of having significant improvements with the new FW38 car that will be fronting the campaign for the team this year. Even though the same red and blue stripe theme livery and last year’s stubby nose will be carried forward in the new car. Notable changes include changes to the side pod and air intakes, and from what we can see, there has also been some serious aero work to the rear. Williams will continue with their existing driver line up going into the championship this year with Felipe Massa partnering Valtteri Bottas. However, Massa will not be driving the new car in its first outing and will have to wait for the second round of testing before he gets behind the wheel. Williams also claim that it has finally dealt with the slower cornering speeds that held them back significantly last year. Interestingly Williams also claim that thanks to new air plumbing the car will also be 12% louder than the outgoing model, as the turbo waste gate is being dealt with separately.
