Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe launched at Rs 74.8 lakh

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the AMG variant of its C-Class based SUV. Priced at Rs 74.8 lakh, ex-showroom, the GLC43 gets sporty updates, akin to AMG’s typical fashion. This is the eighth launch by Mercedes-Benz in India this year.

The GLC43 gets the same engine that was first seen on the SLC 43 AMG last year. The 3-litre V6 twin-turbo unit makes 362bhp and 520Nm and is mated to a 9-speed transmission. The crossover also gets an all wheel drive system. It is capable of sprinting to 100kmph in 4.8 seconds and can go all the way to hit 250kmph. There are five driving modes as well – Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual.

In terms of the looks, the AMG variant gets a sloping coupe like roof, diamond grille, larger front bumper, side skirts, LED headlights/tail lights, rear diffuser, red callipers, 19-inch alloy wheels and quad pipes. On the inside, it gets an all black themed interior with red stitching, red coloured seat belts and flat bottomed steering wheel. The dashboard also gets carbon fibre elements.

The German carmaker has sold 7,171 cars this year so far, the company’s best ever 6 months in its Indian journey. With the GLC 43 AMG, Mercedes intends to grow further in the wake of Indian market’s SUV demand.
