Maruti Suzuki Ignis AGS – evo fleet

The Ignis is one quirky looking car and it catches the attention of everyone wherever it goes. Thanks to its funky yet unconventional looks, it has caught the fancy of my daughter as well. She has never been happier being driven around in any other car as much the Ignis.

Full credit goes to Maruti Suzuki’s designers who have carried over the rounded look on the inside as well. The cabin is airy and the light toned panels never fail to please the eyes. Sure, they are prone to dirt, but you cannot have it all, can you?

My daily commute is almost 40km. However, I end up spending more time in the boot than in the driver’s seat. All the tracking shots you have been seeing in the magazine have been captured from this space. And for me, the Ignis’ boot works really well as it is extremely deep, with a high loading sill, which helps in keeping me alive for the next shoot and also doubles up as a support for my elbows.

On a long weekend, the Ignis took off to Mahabaleshwar, loaded to the hilt, carrying my entire family (including my pet dog). The AMT gearbox worked its magic through the ghat sections while the compact dimensions allowed me to skim through the Khambatki ghat traffic snarls. And parking on the narrow streets of Mall Road is a pain, but not with the Ignis.

To top it all, it even returned a fuel efficiency figure of 15.5kmpl! What more can you ask for?
