The latest gen Porsche 911 tested at the BIC, and put up against its closest rival in the June 2019 ISSUE OF EVO INDIA MAGAZINE – ON STANDS NOW
The 911 is back in its latest form and we do the obvious — pit it against every rival we can get our hands on. The 911 comes away bloodied, this is the closest fight it has had in a long time. Up against the likes of the Audi R8 V10, Aston Martin Vantage, Lotus Evora and the McLaren 570GT, the new 992 is really harried, and though it comes out on top, it is a bit shaken.
We’ve also dissected what handling is and how you can better it, by talking to top engineers from Ferrari, JLR, the Volkswagen Group, Suzuki, Renault, Ford and Aston Martin. Supplementing that is a story on the most affordable performance car India has to offer. As for mega road-trips we’ve completed one half of the mega India Diamond Trail and now have the milestones immortalised in print. We’ve also ridden the new, much awaited Hero Xpulse 200 twins and have a comprehensive review of the same in the magazine.

How good is the new Porsche 911? Only one way to find out, by pitching it against the Audi R8 V10, Aston Martin Vantage, McLaren 570 GT and Lotus Evora GT410 Sport. It’s the first and only comparison test of the world’s best sports cars that you will read in any magazine in India. Building on our great driver’s cars theme we compare affordable turbo-petrols: Tata Tigor JTP against VW Polo GT TSI, Abarth Punto, Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS and Mahindra XUV 300. The verdict will surprise you!
