Jaguar Land Rover India posts highest sales in the country in 2018

It was a good year for Jaguar Land Rover India, as the company announced a 16 per cent growth in 2018 with a total of 4596 units sold. With 642 vehicles sold more than the last year, JLR India witnessed its highest sales in the country till date. 2018 also marked Land Rover brand’s 70 years.

As per the company, models like Land Rover Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Jaguar F-Pace, XE and XF drove half of all the sales last year which only proves our love affair with SUVs. JLR India was on a roll last year with 10 product actions which included MY 2018 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport alongside the 2.0-litre petrol Jaguar F-PACE and the 50th-anniversary Jaguar XJ50. New launches included the Range Rover Velar and the Range Rover Evoque convertible.

Commenting on the company’s success, Rohit Suri, president & managing director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL) said, “The auto industry faced strong headwinds in 2018, especially in the second half with tight liquidity conditions, increased upfront insurance costs and increased lending rates. Despite that, the growth of Jaguar Land Rover in India has been very encouraging for us and we continue to focus on strong product launches and an ever-improving customer experience in 2019 for the two iconic brands, Jaguar and Land Rover.”

Another highlight for the company last year was the launch of Jaguar Land Rover Financial Services for the wholesale and retail of Jaguar Land Rover cars benefitting the customers and the retailers.
