Jaguar F-Pace gets 5-star rating in Euro NCAP

After successfully securing the position of the World Car of the Year 2017 and World Car Design of the Year 2017, the Jaguar F-Pace has also bagged 5- star rating in the Euro crash tests. The Jaguar F-Pace scored 93 per cent for adult occupancy protection, 85 per cent for child occupant safety and 80 per cent for pedestrian safety with its pedestrian detection technology.

Powering the F-Pace is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine that pumps out 177bhp and 430Nm of peak twist. The engine is mated to a 8-speed automatic gearbox with power being provided to all four wheels. Jaguar F-Pace features light weight stiff aluminium architecture and gets 6 airbags.

The SUV comes loaded with driver aids and safety nets.  The Autonomous Emergency Braking gives out a forward collision warning if it detects anything in the front and applies brakes automatically if the driver fails to do so. The adaptive cruise control with queue assist alters the speed of vehicle and the set speed will resume once the traffic clears out. The lane keep assist helps the vehicle to drive in a single lane and brings the vehicle back in the lane if it senses lane drift. Reverse traffic feature aids drivers to reverse the car by providing alerts about vehicles and pedestrians approaching towards the sides of the car. The Driver Condition monitor provides alerts if it detects tiredness in driver and the Blind spot assist provides alert in case of fast approaching vehicles in the car’s blind spot region and guides the car to a safe distance.  The F-Pace scored 85 per cent overall in the Euro NCAP tests.

Nick Rogers, executive director of product engineering in Jaguar Land Rover said, “The Jaguar F-Pace combines award winning design and engineering with exceptional safety. The lightweight aluminium intensive body of the 2017 World Car of the Year provides excellent protection alongside the dynamic performance customers expect from a Jaguar.  Improvements to active safety technologies, such as Forward Traffic Detection and Driver Condition Monitoring, ensured F-Pace achieved the five-star Euro NCAP score.”
