When it comes to riding a Harley-Davidson, the first picture that flashes across your mind is a big guy with a handlebar moustache, tattoos all over, jeans, boots and a sleeveless leather jacket riddled with various logos. Is it safe? Well, I doubt it. Today, the trend is changing and more and more people across the globe are wearing riding gear as a standard protocol. The Two Rivers Harley-Davidson dealership in Pune has a dedicated display area, showcasing the brand’s riding gear, accessories, helmets and boots, and casual wear designed for both men as well as women.

We had taken a trip down to the dealership to pick up the Street 750 and the Street Rod for a review. The manager asked me if I would like to review their new range of riding jackets. So there I was riding the new Street Rod wearing a new Skull Mesh Riding Jacket.

The jacket is made using polyester mesh on both the body as well as the sleeves. The Skull Mesh jacket gets armoured protection only at the elbows and the shoulders and does not have any provision to add a back or chest padding. With 3M Scotchlite Reflective Material piping on the sleeves, it is easier to spot the rider in the dark. The Skull Mesh jacket may not have the best protection, but it is a good jacket for the summers. Since it is a full mesh jacket, it keeps you cool, even in our harsh riding conditions.
