F-Pace launching on October 20

Jaguar India is all set to launch its first ever SUV,the F-Pace, on October 20. The official website of Jaguar India has been populated with all the details of this upcoming SUV, that will go up against the likes of BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLE and Audi Q5.

The F-Pace will be introduced with four trims on offer – Pure, Prestige, R-Sport and First Edition. The Pure and Prestige trims will be equipped with a 2-litre Ingenium diesel engine, that was recently introduced in the second generation XF. The Ingenium engine makes 177bhp of power and 430Nm of torque and can propel the SUV to 100kmph in 8.7 seconds. The more powerful 3-litre V6 diesel engine will be offered in R-Sport and First Edition only and it churns out 296bhp and a massive 700Nm of torque, thus shedding the 0-100kmph time over the 2-litre variant by 2.5 seconds; at 6.2 seconds only.

Talking about the features, the base Pure trim comes with 18-inch alloys, 10 way adjustable front seats, LED DRLs and Jaguar’s all-surface progress control system. The Prestige trim gets chrome add-ons, Taurus leather seats, rear view camera and headlamp washers in addition. The R-Sport variant will get a body kit, 19-inch alloys, R-Sport badges, sport seats, reclining rear seats and interior mood lighting. The top-of-the-line First Edtition, if offered in India, could be limited to a few units only. The feature packed trim will fetch you 20-inch wheels, S-body kit, Houndstooth leather cladding, adaptive dynamics, panoramic roof, Meridian sound system and InTouch control system as standard.

To celebrate the launch in India, Jaguar is building a 60-feet tall model of The Shard, the iconic building, located in Jaguar’s hometown, London; in Mumbai. The Shard resembles a piece of glass, hence the name. It is based in Westminster district and is the tallest structure in the whole of Great Britain at 1,016 feet. Jaguar intends to promote the F-Pace as an icon, just like how The Shard is recognised, globally.

Although the bookings will begin on October 20, Jaguar has revealed the prices of the much awaited SUV today. The F-Pace will be brought-in as a CBU and sadly, Jaguar hasn’t let the GBP depreciation filter to the customers.

Prices (ex-showroom Delhi):

Pure: Rs 68.4 lakh
