Ducati India range gets dearer by 15-17 percent

Ducati India has increased prices of its Made in Thailand CBU models. The range includes motorcycles launched in 2018 starting with Monster 797 Plus all the way to V4 S. The yet-to-be-updated in India models, such as the new Scrambler range (excluding 1100) that was revealed at 2018 EICMA along with the Multistrada 950 will soon be making it here. But until then, you can have the launched-in-2017 models with the old sticker.

The entry-level Monster 797 Plus now costs Rs 8.6 lakh, receiving a price hike of 52,000 rupees. The Monster 821 in Ducati yellow shade will cost a hefty Rs 11.15 lakh, making it expensive by 2,000 rupees than the better equipped and more powerful Triumph Street Triple RS. Similarly, the base Multistrada 1260 now costs a whopping 80,000 more than Triumph Tiger 1200 at Rs 17.8 lakh. To put it into perspective, the recently launched BMW R 1250 GS range starts at Rs 16.85 lakh.

The Diavel 1260 is expected to be launched in July this year. But if you were looking to get an X Diavel S, you’ll now end up spending almost a lakh extra at Rs 20.15 lakh rupees. Even the aggressively priced V4 at launch now costs Rs 22.7 lakh, receiving a hike of Rs 2.20 lakh! The litre-class, V4 R costs remains the same though as it is imported from Italy and not Thailand.

With the increase in prices, Ducatis have now become a lot more expensive than they already were. A lot of Ducatis were the most affordable bikes in their respective segments until now, but with the price hike, brands like Triumph and BMW Motorrad can take a breather.
