It was the home run. For me, and for the Renault Kwid. For me, because I was getting off the India Diamond Trail Drive and handing over the baton to my colleague Suvrat. And for the Kwid, because we were swapping out the Kwid Climber AMT for a manual Kwid for the rest of the drive.
Our last day was a quick dash from Surat to Pune. We managed to avoid traffic getting out of Surat, and avoided traffic getting into Pune. All in all, it was a good day. This is home territory, as we come to this side of the world for our magazine stories very often. It was pretty much smooth sailing all the way through, save for one biker who cut across our path, forcing a panic brake.
Tomorrow we take our Renault Kwid to a Ceat dealership in Pune, get the health of the tyres checked and then pass on the baton to the team heading out for the next leg of the drive. That’s it from me, but these blogs will continue to be updated on a daily basis. So stay tuned!
