The drive from Bhubaneshwar to Vishakhapatnam

As much as I was disappointed for my journey to end, I was equally pumped to head back home. The drive from Bhubaneshwar to Vishakhapatnam was not long and time consuming, giving me enough time to recollect my thoughts and think about the good times I had on the drive.

Visit to the famous Chilika Lake

It was one of the latest starts to the day, 10am not exactly the time that we usually begin our day’s drive. On our way, we decided to just divert the journey a bit and head off to see the famous Chilika Lake. Known for being the largest wintering ground for migratory birds in the Indian subcontinent, the lake in its current state is pretty bad. Filth and garbage is strewn along the port and there is a pretty bad stench to accompany it. Some drastic steps do need to be taken to clean the location by the Orissa government.

The nicely done Golden Quadrilateral

The G-Quad road connecting Vishakhapatnam was pristine and didn’t have too much traffic all along, allowing us to maximise the potential from the Kwid’s 1-litre engine. Keeping triple digit speeds was effortless. And with that speed, we were able to reach Vishakhapatnam by 6pm. Great stuff right? Navigating through the city itself took us an hour and a half and that was a bit of a rocky end to the day.

With that my stint of the Kwid 29 States 29 Days Challenge ends. From the plains of Punjab to the mountains of Meghalaya, I have enjoyed it all. Well not all, West Bengal you weren’t pretty, but there has to be some hardships to endure along the way. Abhishek takes over the duties henceforth as I bid adieu.
