Auto Expo 2016: Audi A8 L Security launched at Rs 9.15 crore

German luxury car manufacturer — Audi launched the A8 L security at Auto Expo 2016. The car satisfies the criteria to provide VR 9 ballistic protection standard, currently the most stringent requirements for civilian security standards.

Aramid fabric, aluminium alloys and hot-formed steel armour have been used for lightweight and robust construction of chassis. Standard security features include an armoured communication box in luggage compartment, an intercom for communication with the outside world and selective door unlocking. Upon request, Audi can deliver systems like emergency exit system, a fire extinguisher system and an emergency fresh air system.

The car will be available with two engine options. The 4.0 TFSI biturbo V8 with max power output of 435bhp and max torque of 600Nm and the naturally aspirated W12 FSI with max power of 500bhp and max torque of 625 Nm. The car is also electronically limited to 210kmph, considering the tires which possesses emergency flat running properties.

With the high amount of equipment level and priced at Rs 9.15 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi), it stands in the league of Mercedes-Benz S600 Guard.
