Audi has gone ahead and launched a refreshed 2018 version of their mental performance station wagon (estate), the RS6 Avant in India at Rs 1.65 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The RS6 Avant was introduced in India back in 2015 and was priced at Rs 1.38 crore (ex-showroom, India). The 2018 avatar of the performance estate makes more power and is now quicker, but still capable of carrying your family and a luggage.
The standard RS6 estate is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo (Bi-turbo), V8 motor that churns out 560bhp and 700Nm of torque. The ‘Performance’ badge means it is tuned to make 36bhp (596bhp) and 50Nm (750Nm) more with the overboost function. The motor is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and aided by Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system. The RS6 Avant sprints to 100kmph in 3.9 seconds, the RS6 Avant Performance can get you there 0.2 seconds earlier!
The RS6 Avant Performance gets larger 21-inch alloy wheels, and to add to the aesthetics it gets a contrasting fron splitter, door mirrors, rear diffuser and a Quattro badge on the front grille. To heighten the menace, the Audi RS6 Avant Performance features a sports exhaust. The safety and tech features have been shared between the two variants.
