Mercedes Benz will be launching the new C300 and S500 Cabriolet in India on November 9. This will be the fourth cabriolet available for the Indian market after the E400 and the SLC 43 AMG.

The C300 is provided with a 2.0 litre, 4 cylinder engine giving 241bhp of power and 370Nm of torque mated to a 9G tronic gearbox. The C300 is provided with a soft-top roof that extends or retracts under 20 seconds and up to speeds of 50kmph. It also comes with a Mercedes Benz’s Airscarf technology which keeps blowing a warm breeze of air to the neck. The C300 shares the same platform as the latest C-Class.

The S500 is designed to look similar to the S Coupe, and is powered by a monstrous 4.7 litre V8 making 442bhp and a whopping 700Nm of torque. Like the S-Class Saloon and Coupé, the new Cabrio is available with numerous new assistance systems that make driving even more comfortable and safer and now comes with a all new climate control system that uses sensors to automatically adjust the temperature for roof-up and down conditions, it also comes with new rollover protection system which allows the roll bars to be extended much faster thanks to the use of a gas generator instead of a spring system.

The Audi A3 cabriolet and the Mini Cooper S cabriolet are  suitable rivals for the C300. Whereas there aren’t any rivals for the S500 and other German manufacturers don’t seem to be in a spot of bother by the S500 Cabriolet at present.
