JK Tyre Orange 4×4 Fury: Gerrari Off-roaders win the 2-day rally

The fourth edition of the Orange Festival of Adventure and Music (OFAM) is in its last day today and this event that incorporates both music and off-roading witnessed a thrilling finale to the JK Tyre Orange 4X4 Fury. Eleven teams battled it out in the forests of Arunachal Pradesh for the top spot.

Chandigarh based Gerrari Off-roaders won the JK Tyre-Orange 4×4 Fury with a total of 514.5 points on the board. The winners also received prize amount of Rs 2.5 lakh. The two-day off-roading event was flagged off from the scenic locales of lower Dibang valley in Arunachal Pradesh, and was concluded on Sunday.

The winning team with their two cars steered by Kabir Waraich and Gurmeet Singh along with the co-drivers, Yuvraj Tiwana and Dushyant Khosla put up a strong total of 204 points to take the lead in the second stage. Despite facing issues on the second day and moving down to fifth position, the team put up a strong fight, coasting in the next stages, finally putting up a strong total to win the rally.

The Association of Off-roaders from Nagaland (AON), led by Angulie Vupru and Sathish Kumar along with their respective co-drivers, Neiketoulie Meyase and Yanren Jamio grabbed the second position with 398.5 points, 116 points behind Gerrari Off-roaders. The home team of Arunachal Pradesh, MOCCA led by Miranjeet Choudhury and Tsengtsing had to settle for the third place.

The second day of the rally included challenging rounds like Bushman, which involved teams wading through rivers, navigating in thick forests and driving over logs of wood to get to the final stage. Showman was the final stage, where the teams had to overcome a man-made 12-feet incline followed by a rapid descent, requiring calculated driving. Gerrari Off-roaders commandeered by Kabir Waraich and Gurmeet Singh cruised through these stages too sealing their win.
