Isuzu launched their flagship SUV in India, the MU-X at a price tag of Rs 23.99 lakh (ex showroom Delhi) for the FWD model and Rs 25.99 lakh (ex showroom Delhi) for the AWD variant.
Under the hood, the MU-X is powered by a 3-litre diesel unit which makes 174bhp at 3600rpm and 380Nm of torque at 1800-2800rpm. Mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, the 4WD variant gets ‘shift-on-fly’ transfer box with 4L and 4H modes.
The MU-X gets new front and rear bumpers, LED DRLs, projector headlamps and 18-inch alloy wheels. The inside features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and sat-nav, electrically adjustable drivers seat, dual front airbags, automatic climate control, along with ABS, EBD, traction control and stability control.
Currently Isuzu is launching the 3-litre engine in both 2WD and 4WD. We could expect to see a MT model and lesser powered a 1.9-litre engine to follow suit soon.
The MU-X is expected to face a tough competition in the segment dominated by Toyota Fortuner and the Ford Endeavour.
