Hindustan Petroleum has won six of the ten awards in the Standing Conference of Public Enterprise (SCOPE) Corporation Communication Summit, held at SCOPE convention centre, New Delhi. The Awards were presented by minister of state for Information and Broadcasting and minister of state for Youth Affairs and Sports, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore in the presence of senior dignitaries from Government of India, PSUs and SCOPE.
The summit, currently in its last day, has ten categories including brand building, best corporate communication campaign, crisis handling and effective use of digital media that called for entries from different Public Sector Enterprises. Hindustan Petroleum won the first position in best corporate communication campaign (external), second place in best corporate communication campaign (internal), best house journal in English and Hindi and third place for best annual report and corporate film category.
The summit saw a total of 119 entries from 38 PSUs were evaluated before selecting the winners and the jury comprised of eminent personalities from civil services, media and academicians.
The summit focuses on the corporate communication of PSUs as they are vital for strategic management of an organization. With the rise in social media and the way people perceive information, the ability of corporate communication professionals to effectively communicate becomes of importance with the development of new technologies and fresh communication analytics. This makes the role of corporate communication professionals’ more than just managing stakeholders and shareholders with proper use of social media for enhancing customer satisfaction and public confidence. The summit thus throws light on the media, world economy, geo-political scenarios and the role of corporate communication and public relation professionals in it.
