Hero MotoCorp Ltd (HMCL) launched the new Splendor iSmart 110 today. Having showcased the bike at the Auto Expo, it is completely developed in India at the Hero Centre of Innovation and Technology, Jaipur.
Based on a completely new platform, the Splendor iSmart gets a BS-IV compliant engine, a first in the segment. The 110cc engine makes 9bhp and 9Nm of torque and propels the bike to 60kmph in an impressive time of 7.45 seconds, as claimed by HMCL. It is also equipped with HMCL’s i3S system, which starts/stops the engine during idling, for better efficiency. Also, it gets an all new chassis, enhancing the riding and handling capabilities of the commuter.
The console has been redesigned and sports a digital/analog display with the addition of a service due indicator. The USP of the bike is the auto headlamp feature which none of the commuter bikes offer. It also gets new decals, dual-tone mirrors and a longer seat. HMCL has equipped the Splendor iSmart with a new muffler to give it a meatier sound as compared to the old bike.
At the launch, Pawan Munjal, Chairman, MD &CEO, HMCL said, “As the market leader in India and as a global organization, we constantly strive to lead the industry towards cost efficient and green technologies for a sustainable future. The new iSmart 110 is another example of our efforts, featuring a BS IV compliant engine along with the intuitive, fuel-efficient i3S technology. Coupled with our green manufacturing facilities, such products will enable us to achieve our sustainability goals. With our ever-increasing global footprint, we are engaged in developing products that will bring to life engineering excellence that is made-in-India, for India and the world.”
The Splendor iSmart 110 is now available at Hero MotoCorp dealerships across the country and is priced at Rs 53,300 (ex-showroom Delhi).
