The new 5 Series Touring made its worldwide debut at the Geneva Motor Show, followed by a refreshed 4 Series and a special edition of the i8.

The 5 Series Touring is one of the most popular estates in the European market with its practical nature. The new Touring is even larger than the old car which obviously equates to even more space on the inside. The permissible payload is higher too. Boot capacity is up by 10 litres and now stands at 570 litres, which can be extended all the way to 1700 litres. The rear seat is foldable with a 40:20:40 ratio and is controlled via a button. All the upgrades from the 5 Series sedan also make it to the Touring, which is expected to be launched in June 2017 in Europe. We do not expect it to be launched in India.

BMW also showcased the refreshed 4 Series which gets redesigned air intakes and rear aprons along with full LED head lights and tail lights. On the inside, there is a new display incorporated with the Connected Drive system. But the most important aspect is the suspension that has been completely revised. BMW says that the handling is now tauter being comfortable at the same time.

Finally, the i8 was showcased in an all new Protonic Frozen Black Edition. BMW also mentioned that a plug-in hybrid Mini will be launched by 2019 followed by an all-electric variant.
