Apollo tyres, known to manufacture passenger and commercial vehicle tyres announced its entry into the two-wheeler segment in India. The tyres will be named Acti . The company claims to cover nearly 85% of the replacement market for two-wheeler tyres in India. The two-wheeler market is growing at a CAGR of 8.5 % in India and it shows huge potential for tyres in two-wheeler segment given the fact of India having 120 million two-wheelers.
The Acti series of tyres are designed to provide excellent dry and wet braking and also claim to possess superb cornering stability. The tyres will be available in both tube and tubeless formats and will go on sale immediately at Apollo authorized business partners in all the major markets across the country.
Motorcycle rear tyres –
The motorcycle tyres will come in three patterns and will be named actiGRIP R1, R2 designed in block pattern and actiZIP R3 in directional pattern. The block tyre pattern are designed for on and off-road riding conditions. The directional pattern tyres are designed for highway cruising on dry and wet surface. The block will be available in 3.00 – 17, 3.00 – 18 and 2.75 – 18 and the directional in 100/90 – 18TL, 100/90 17TL and 2.75 – 18 sizes.
Motorcycle front tyres –
Like the rear tyres, the front will also be available in three patterns, the actiSTEER F1 in straight rib pattern, actiZIP F2 and F3 in directional patterns. The rib will be available in 2.75 – 18 side and directional in 2.75 – 17 and 2.75 – 18.
Scooter tyres –
Apollo has introduced for front and rear applications namely actiZIP S1 and S2 and 2 block patterns actiGRIP S3 and S4. Apollo also claims an increased fuel efficiency with these new tyres. The block will be available in 90/100 – 10 and directional in 90/90 – 12TL and 90/100 – 10TL sizes.
