Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) revealed the F-Type Project 7 in 2016 and soon, there will be another ‘naughty kitty’ added to the list. The XE is the latest to go under the knife and will be showcased on June 28. Like the F-Type Project 7, this handcrafted car will also be limited to 300 numbers and the British carmaker also claims it to be the most powerful street legal Jag ever produced.
The power essentially comes from a 5-litre supercharged V8 engine with a maximum output of 583.69bhp. Despite some willy-waving horsepower figures, Jaguar has not revealed any other mechanical details about the sports sedan, but expect it to get a tauter setup with a suspension tuned for sporty dynamics and adjustable rear wings to give a tough run to its closest competitor, the BMW M4 GTS. It is also rumored that it could share the same all-wheel drive platform like the other SVR’s.
The F-Type Project 7 was double the price of its standard F-Type available in the market. If the speculations are correct, Jaguar will be tagging the XE SV Project 8 double the price of the regular XE available in the market. With the testing being carried around Nurburgring and BMW M5 F90 launching around the corner, Jaguar will launch this new performance sedan on June 28 and later in July it will make an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed
