An initiative to champion the cause of motorsports in India, the MMSC joins hands with Mazda Road to Indy program to offer the 2016 MRF FF1600 champion a seat in the USF 2000 category. The series acts a stepping stone to the ultimate prize — the Indy 500 and the Verizon IndyCar Series.
MMSC president Ajit Thomas said: “We are pleased to announce our tie-up with the Indy Racing League for the Mazda Road to Indy scholarship shootout which is further evidence to our commitment to develop talent in the sport.”
The MRF FF1600 runs as a part of the National Racing Championship which features Formula LGB1300, Indian Junior Touring Cars (IJTC), Indian Touring Cars (ITC) and the Superstock championships.
The racing season begins as Round 1 takes place at the January 29-31, 2016; at the MMRT track in Chennai.
