Sherco TVS riders Pedrero and Martin had a good run on day 4 of the Merzouga Rally 2018, as they were classified in top ten in the overall rankings. Pedrero and Martin grabbed the seventh and tenth positions in general classification. As far as individual stage classifications go, Pedrero and Martin finished the fourth stage in third and twelfth position. Teammate Cominotto finished the stage in 21st position and is placed 22nd overall. Santilino didn’t have smooth running like the others, as he finished stage four in 67th and as a result, dropped down in general rankings taking the 32nd position overall. Hero MotorSports riders Santosh and Mena grabbed the 19th and 15th positions in overall rankings, steadily making their way up.
Day 4 was the second marathon stage and it had a 233km special stage, with dunes in the initial part along with fast tracks and rocky terrain in the later sections, which provided navigational challenges to the competitors. Here too, competitors were not allowed any service assistance from their crews. The fourth stage also had two liaison stages, with the first untimed route of 36km in the Moroccan desert and the final untimed section of 103km to the bivouac where competitors finally received assistance from service crews to prepare for the last stage of the rally.
