evo India’s epic sixth-anniversary issue is on stands now

Headlined by the Ferrari F8 Tributo, the sixth-anniversary issue of evo India has some epic stories including the new 911 and epicmotorcycles like the MV Agusta Turismo Veloce

Team Evo India

evo India celebrates its sixth anniversary, with an absolute cracker of a story: driving the sixth-anniversary issue at Fiorano and in the hills around Maranello. Ferraris are always special, mid-engined ones even more so and the F8 Tributo is a tribute of sorts to the brilliantly engineered V8 engine that has won the Engine of the Year award for four consecutive years. It is the epitome of a classic formula that mixes in a mid-mounted V8, two seats and some gorgeous bodywork. But more than just a plain old review of the car, we bring you the full Ferrari experience — right from the Lancia that shuttles you from the airport to the factory and the number of slides in the product presentation. The Ed even donned overalls and tried his hand at wrenching together the V8 that sits in the Tributo. Ferrari does things differently, and this story tells you how.

We’ve also gotten our hands on the new 992-generation Porsche 911, and have driven it on roads familiar to us. The eighth generational change for the 911 brings significant improvements to the car, and ties in a lot of the technology introduced in the last generation — turbochargers, electric power steering, active anti-roll systems — in to a more homogenous package. In addition to this, that launch of the new generation 3 Series has caused us to revisit an age old battle, lining it up against the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. The bikes are no less exciting! MV Agusta’s Turismo Veloce is nothing short of art on wheels, but remains useable courtesy its adventure tourer origins. The Indian FTR 1200 S is a unique motorcycle that we haven’t seen the likes of before, combining the usability of a street-naked with the styling of a flat tracker. We’ve also got plenty of new metal from the Frankfurt motor show. The anniversary issue of evo India in on stands now, get your copy today!

Ferrari F8 Tributo

What’s is like driving Ferrari’s latest, greatest mid-engines supercar at the hallowed grounds of Fiorano, in the hills surrounding the factory, and everything in between. The Ferrari experience is unlike any other, and we bring it to you — down to the last detail — in the cover story of the sixth anniversary issue.

Porsche 911 Carrera S (992)

The Porsche 911 is the quintessential sportscar, and it has the tendency to capture the imagination of impressionable enthusiasts. Someone from the latest generation of Porsche enthusiasts gets his hands on the latest generation of the Porsche 911 to give you the story of a childhood dream coming true.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class v BMW 3 Series

The age-old battle of these two sedan has been revisited, with the 3 Series getting significant upgrades with this new generation. Will the C-Class remain the class benchmark, or will the breadth of the new 3 Series’ ability show it up? The top-of-the-line diesels from either camp, the Mercedes-Benz C300d AMG Line and BMW 320d Luxury Line go head-to-head.

Frankfurt Motorshow

The low-down on the movers and shakers from the Frankfurt Motor Show: including the Porsche Taycan, the Volkswagen ID.3 and the Land Rover Defender.

Indian FTR 1200 S

Indian has been making cruisers for the road, yes, but they also have a rich legacy of flat-track racing. Built on an all-new platform, the FTR 1200 S is a flat-track inspired motorcycle for the road. A rival to the likes of the Ducati Monster 1200, it brings you unhinged performance in a package that we havent seen the likes of before.

MV Agusta Tourismo Veloce

If there’s one thing that an MV Agusta motorcycle lacks, it is practicality. But that shouldn’t be so for an adventure tourer, should it? The Turismo Veloce takes everything that we love, including the engine from a Brutale and styling inspired by the F3, and adds to it a dose of everyday useability. Could the Turismo Veloce be the most complete MV around?

Benelli Leoncino

Benelli has been slowly expanding its range of offerings in India, and the latest, the Leoncino, could be the best one yet. A neo-retro motorcycle with Scrambler cues, it features a 500cc parallel-twin motor and rivals the likes of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. The Leoncino could be the motorcycle that turns things around for Benelli in India, and we get astride it to find out more.

AMG Hill Climb

Performance SUVs offer an enticing combination: speed, with the ability to go anywhere. We take the Mercedes-AMG GLE Coupe out exploring old rally routes in the western ghats. On these roads, you need the go-anywhere ability of an SUV as they tend to face the brunt of the monsoons. However, when the roads are good, you need the performance at your behest as well. There’s some epic archived photos of the cars that came to race at these rallies in the story as well!

Life with the VW Tiguan

The Ed has been living with the Volkswagen Tiguan for a while now, and he delves in to what makes this SUV special. From the daily commute to cross-country road trips, the Tiguan has seen it all.

Skoda Kodiaq to Hampi

The Skoda Kodiaq is a brilliant SUV for a roadtrip. To drive that point home, we took a Kodiaq from Bangalore to Hampi to explore the unique landscape of the area, along with the forgotten ruins of the Vijayanagara empire. This story started with a simple brief to get epic visuals, but transformed in to a philosophical one, exploring man’s need to create masterpieces that can stand the test of time.

Fortuner to the Rann

The Rann of Kutch is familiar territory: we often go exploring the vast emptiness of this salt desert for our stories. However, in the monsoons, the Rann transforms itself from a desert to a mini-sea with loads of slushy trails leading up to it. We take the big daddy of SUVs — the Toyota Fortuner — exploring these trails, and discovering what life around the Rann is like when it is submerged.

Hyundai Safety Stories

As part of an ongoing initiative to promote road safety in India, we are conducting the #BeTheBetterGuy workshops where we put our extensive driving experience to use by giving tips on safe driving to Hyundai owners. This story gives you an idea of how you can be a safer driver on the road, and also features the owners and what they had to say about the workshop and their learnings over the weekend.
