Triumph has launched two new motorcycles for 2025 in India, the Speed Twin 1200 and the more dynamic Speed Twin 1200 RS model. Both motorcycles get chassis upgrades, more technology, an increase in power and refreshed styling. Prices for the Speed Twin 1200 start from ₹12.75 lakh, while the Speed Twin 1200 RS is priced at ₹15.49 lakh.
Triumph Speed Twin 1200 design
In terms of updates to the design, the fuel tank of the Speed Twin 1200 is now more sculpted, with a new flip-up filler cam. The engine casings are now powder-coated in a new black finish, and you also get more compact silencers. The round headlight is now an LED unit with a new DRL light signature, along with a new brushed aluminium bezel. The one-piece bench seat has also been reprofiled and the Speed Twin 1200 also gets new cast aluminium wheels.
Triumph Speed Twin 1200 chassis and suspension
The Speed Twin 1200 gets higher bars which are positioned further forward than the previous model. The 43mm diameter Marzocchi forks and twin Marzocchi rear suspension units have been upgraded and now feature remote reservoirs in addition to adjustable preload on the back. You also get new Triumph-branded radial calipers mounted on twin 320mm discs to handle braking duties. The RS model on the other gets fully-adjustable Marzocchi forks and Ohlins rear suspension units, along with twin Brembo Stylema calipers on 320mm discs.
Triumph Speed Twin 1200 engine
The Bonneville 1200 twin engine powers the Speed Twin 1200 and it now produces 103.5bhp, along with 112Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the 270-degree firing order and low inertia crankshaft provide instant response, retaining a rich torque delivery throughout the rev range.
Triumph Speed Twin 1200 features
The Speed Twin 1200 now gets two riding modes – Road and Rain – to tailor the engine response, along with optimised cornering ABS and traction control fitted to both the standard and RS models. The RS gets an additional Sport riding mode, which sharpens the throttle response and optimises the traction control settings. The RS is also fitted with Triumph Shift Assist, a bi-directional quickshifter – a first for the Bonneville platform. The bikes also get new LCD and TFT displays encased in a classic circular dial, with compatibility to turn-by-turn navigation, phone connectivity and a USB-C charging socket.
