All new Ford Endeavour launch tomorrow

Ford India will launch the all new Endeavour tomorrow. The new India-bound Endeavour is likely to be priced between Rs. 20-25 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The SUV will be available in two basic variants – Trend and Titanium, both will be offered with 4×2 and 4×4 drive option. It will also come with two different diesel powertrain options – one a 2.2-litre TDCi engine which will deliver the maximum output of 158bhp with 385Nm of torque and the other a 3.2-litre TDCi which will deliver 197bhp with 470Nm of torque.

The 2.2-litre pot is available with both a manual and an automatic transmission. While the manual gets the option of 4×4, the automatic is available only as a 4×2. Meanwhile, the bigger 3.2-litre engine can only be had with a six-speed automatic transmission and a 4×4 driveline.

The SUV is equipped with various electronic aids to enhance its off-road ability. The Terrain management system (available only on the 4×4) has different modes for sand, snow, mud and rock. It also has Hill Launch Assist and Hill Descent Control modes to tackle hills.

The new Endeavour 2016 will be imported to India as CKD unit from Thailand, and then assembled at Ford India’s Chennai Plant. It will compete against the Toyota Fortuner, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport and Ssangyong Rexton.
