Maruti Suzuki Brezza launched at Rs 6.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)

Maruti Suzuki begins its onslaught in the sub-10 lakh SUV segment with the Vitara Brezza. The Brezza will be an all new offering in the compact SUV segment and also a first for Maruti Suzuki. The compact SUV will be competing against the present market leaders, the Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and Hyundai Creta.

Powering the Brezza will be the same 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine that does duty in the Ciaz, Baleno and other Maruti offerings. It makes 89bhp and 200Nm of torque mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

Driver side airbag will be standard though the base variant onwards will have front passenger airbag, ABS and EBD as options. The compact SUV gets a hoard of features like the LED DRLs, projector headlamps, Maruti’s Smartplay infotainment system and ambient lighting in the cabin, turn indicators on front bumpers, cruise controls, gear shift indicators, 5 colour options for speedometer lighting and floating roof.

Dimension wise, the Brezza has 198mm of ground clearance, a 328 litre boot and 16-inch wheels with 215 section tyres. It is 3995mm long, 1790mm wide and 1640mm tall with a 2500mm wheelbase. Brezza will be available in six single tone colour options like arctic white, premium silver, granite gray, blazing red, cerulean blue and fiery yellow. The dual tone colour scheme will be available only in ZDi+ variant including blazing red with midnight black, cerulean blue with arctic white and fiery yellow with arctic white.
