After launching the MY19 Endeavour last month, Ford has launched the MY 2019 Figo. While the base Ambiente variant costs Rs 5.15 lakh, the top-spec Titanium variant retails at Rs 8.09 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Ford claims to have done more than 1200 changes including a redesigned front and rear, and bigger spoked alloys in the Blu Edition. The base variant of the MY19 Figo is Rs 67000 cheaper than its predecessor. All the variants of the facelifted Figo are cheaper than the variants of its predecessor. The base variant of the Figo is equipped with safety features including ABS with EBD, dual airbags and engine immobiliser.
There are three engine options – 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre petrol and 1.5 litre diesel engine. While the petrol engines are available with a choice of both 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions, the diesel variant gets only a 5-speed manual. The 5-speed manual transmission is new and Ford claims that it is almost 15 per cent lighter, which helps to reduce NVH and increase fuel efficiency. It also requires 40 per cent lesser gear oil than the outgoing model, says Ford. The facelifted Figo also gets the 1.2-litre TiVCT engine for the first time, which makes 94bhp and 120Nm. Fuel efficiency is a claimed 20.4kmpl.
Ford Figo Titanium Blu
The Titanium Blu variant is equipped with safety features including six airbags, ESP, traction control and hill launch assist. It gets features including 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, rain sensing wipers and automatic headlamps. The Blu trim also gets dual tone roof, blue accents on the outside and inside, 15-inch alloys and cellular grille.
