The new Porsche Panamera is here and is priced at Rs 1.93 crore for the Turbo variant. Unlike before, the Turbo isn’t the top of the line variant as Porsche is now going to offer an extended wheelbase Panamera that costs Rs 2.05 crore for the Turbo. It will be called the Turbo Executive. All prices are ex-showroom Maharashtra. While you can book one now, deliveries will begin only in the second quarter of 2017.
The Executive is a full 150mm longer than the regular Panamera and could well be the chauffer driven 4-door sportsback with ample leg room at the rear. The car is fitted with various standard features such an adaptive air suspension with electrically controlled dampers, rear-axle steering like what we’ve experienced in the 911, heated/cooled seats in the front and rear, a large panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, LED headlights and soft-close doors. Besides these features, customers can choose from a wide range of options available such as a newly developed infotainment system and the Porsche rear seat entertainment system that comes with two 10.1-inch screens integrated in the backrests of the front seats.
Powering the Panamera Turbo and Turbo Executive is the 4-litre twin turbo V8 screamer that makes 542bhp of power and 770Nm of torque, which is 29bhp and 70Nm more than its predecessor. This improves the 0-100kmph time to 3.8 seconds and takes this luxury sedan to 306km/h.
In addition to the Turbo variants, there are five more models the Panamera that will also go on sale sometime later this year. They come with a combination of V6 or V8 engines with RWD or AWD configurations. There’s also going to be a hybrid Panamera that gets a V6 paired with a 100KW battery.
