Tata C-Cube concept is a precursor to TAMO

Tata Motors showcased the C-Cube concept, a three door hatchback with similar form to something like a Fiat 500, at an event organised by Microsoft India called Future Decoded 2017.

“Through the C-Cube, Tata Motors is showcasing its advanced structural technology which will enable the Company to bring forward breakthrough products from TAMO” says a release by the company. What the C-Cube could essentially be then is the Advanced Modular Platform that Tata Motors is developing for its future products. Tata Motors has six platforms at present and the company is planning consolidate to just one new modular platform in the future that will spawn multiple products, like VW’s MQB platform that is shared with all its brands.

The C-Cube was developed before the launch of the TAMO brand and isn’t Tata’s first TAMO product. That car is the sportscar the company will reveal at Geneva. It will showcase innovations from its association with Microsoft, along with more light on mobility solutions the company has been working on.

The C-Cube first of all is the new platform, and going by its smart styling, the next generation of Tata’s entry level hatchbacks seems to be bright. It has a sporty stance with four wheels at their extremities, a swooping roofline, aggressive front end and sharp shoulder lines. You can even see air intakes on the sides under the doors which could mean that the Nano won’t be Tata’s only rear-engine hatch.
