S-Class Connoisseur’s Edition launched at Rs 1.21 crore

Mercedes-Benz India launched the Connoisseur’s Edition of its flagship model, the S-Class, today. Available in both, S 350 d and S 400 variants, the special edition is priced at Rs 1.21 crore and 1.32 crore, respectively (ex-showroom Pune).

The Connoisseur’s Edition gets Night View Assist Plus system which helps the driver detect pedestrians and animals in the dark easily. The objects are highlighted in the cockpit display, as the system illuminates the road with two infrared lamps. A grayscale image is generated using the infrared camera located behind the windscreen. However, the night view image is generated only when a hazardous situation is identified.

Then there’s the executive seat, which was recently seen in the newly launched LWB E-Class. The button operated seat can be reclined to an angle of up to 43.5 degrees. The seat ergonomics also have been improved with better thigh support and an electrically extending footrest.

The Air-Balance package incorporates a six-way interior fragrance generator which can be changed according to personal preference. There is also an air purifier that improves the quality of air using ionization and optimized filtering.

The S 350 d is powered by a 3-litre, V6 diesel engine that churns out 258bhp and 620Nm allowing the luxury sedan to hit 100kmph in just 6.8 seconds. The S 400 gets a 3-litre, V6 unit which makes 333bhp and 480 Nm, accelerating to 100kmph in 6.1 seconds. Both the variants are limited at a top speed of 250kmph.

Speaking at the launch, Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “At Mercedes-Benz, it is our endeavour to offer our discerning customers the best of our products and services.
