Renault Duster Adventure edition launched

The slurry of launches continues this festive season with Renault launching the Adventure version of the Duster. The pre-facelift Duster did come in the Adventure guise and went to become popular for the French manufacturer.

The Adventure edition comes with several cosmetic changes, both on the inside or the outside, although, minor ones. The front bumper is redesigned and gets additional fog lamps and a bigger air intake dam. The roof rails gets an orange tinge of paint which is also inserted onto the AC vents and the speedometer gauge. Also added are five spoke gun metal alloys and a compass decal on the C-pillar. Everything else remains as it is.

Offered in three variants, the Adventure edition is available in both, 84bhp and 108bhp trims. The 1.5-litre diesel unit on both is mated to a five-speed manual and a six-speed manual gearbox, respectively. The fixed geometry turbocharger on the RXE and RXL trim churns out 84bhp and 200Nm while the variable geometry turbo on the RXA trim makes 108bhp and 245Nm. The RXZ variant also gets the AWD option as standard.

Hyundai Creta has been garnering huge numbers and eating up midsize sedan and compact SUV sales for a long period, thus other manufacturers have been forced to bring out such initiatives. The Renault Duster turned around the French carmaker’s fortunes in India and now the Kwid is following it up with big numbers, and we expect the Adventure edition to add-up to the sales with the Diwali lining up in queue.

Prices (ex-showroom Delhi):

RXE 85PS: Rs 9.64 lakh.

RXL 85PS:s 10.45 lakh.

RXZ AWD 110PS: Rs 13.77 lakh.
