All the news from the second round of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship

The Madras Motor Racing Track  at Chennai saw a weekend fuelled with great racing on the 11th and 12th of July as the city played host to the second round of the MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship. The Championship  itself has grown over the last year with the inclusion of the Gixxer Cup one make races.

Races that took place include Group B, Group C and Group D of the 165cc category, the Honda one make races that saw the CBR 250 and CBR 150 have a go around the track and the Gixxer Cup which is hosting two categories for both novices and more experienced riders.

However it was Rajini Krishnan of the Moto-Rev Yamaha Racing team who blitzed the track on his Yamaha R15. He finished second  on Saturday and first on Sunday in the Group B category. Harry Sylvester of TVS Racing stood third on Saturday and improved on Sunday to win second place. Jagan, who won the race on Saturday suffered a puncture on the second lap of the race on Sunday, which allowed Rajini and Sylvester to seal their victories.

The Open category of the Gixxer Cup saw Ananth Raj win the Saturday’s race was well as Sunday’s eventful race. The race was red flagged twice due to two crashes and the length of the race was reduced from six laps to two.

Muraleedharan, a 23 year old from Coimbatore won both the races in the Novice category of the Gixxer cup as well. He also won both races in Group D of the 165cc category. He had repeated the performance in the first round last month at Coimbatore.
