Geneva Motor Show special: Porsche 911 GT3, Panamera Sport Turismo and Turbo S E-Hybrid world premiere

With every top manufacturer bringing their A-game to the 87th Geneva Motor Show, Porsche did not disappoint. The company unveiled their 911 GT3, Panamera Sport Turismo and the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
First up – the Porsche 911 GT3 that is driven by a 4-liter naturally-aspirated engine and delivers a maximum power of 493bhp is the same engine that is incorporated in the 911 GT3 Cup racing cars. Porsche claimed that the car has been developed on the same test track and manufactured on the same production line as the racing cars for which the chassis has been redesigned with rear-axle steering and the lightweight construction that is specifically tuned to convert the engine power into driving dynamics. The two-seater’s engine is mated with to seven-speed double-clutch transmission (PDK) as standard and weighs 1430kgs, accelerating from 0-100kmph in 304 seconds to reach a top speed of 320kmph.
The Panamera Sport Turismo joins the Panamera family, but with a new body addition that will come in various versions: Panamera 4, Panamera 4S, Panamera 4S Diesel, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid and Panamera Turbo. The Sport Turismo boasts a large tailgate, low loading edge, increased luggage compartment volume and a 4+1 seating concept.
“For Porsche, the Panamera Sport Turismo is a step forwards into a new segment, but retains all of those values and attributes that are characteristic of Porsche”, says Michael Mauer, Director of Style Porsche.
Porsche has also launched the plug-in hybrid model Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid as the flagship of a model line that sports a four-litre V8 engine from the Panamera Turbo, combined with an electric motor. The engine delivers a maximum torque of 850Nm just above the idling speed and accelerates from 0-100kmph in 3.4 seconds to reach to top speed of 310kmph.
