New Hyundai Verna at Rs 7.99 lakh

Hyundai India has launched the all-new Verna with prices starting at Rs 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Verna gets a complete overhaul in terms of interior and exterior design with most of the styling cues taken from the new Elantra. It now gets Hyundai’s trademark hexagonal grille, new headlamps with LED DRLs and projectors, new tail lamps, dual-tone rear bumper and a sloping roof-line. The extensive equipment list of the new Verna includes rear curtain, front ventilated seats, electric sunroof, rear air-con vents, automatic temperature control, cornering headlamps, impact sensing auto-unlock doors, six airbags, cruise control and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Mirror Link and voice recognition. While the features like ABS, ISOFIX rear seats and dual-airbags are standard across the range.
The new Verna is based on Hyundai’s new K2 platform but gets the same set of 1.6-litre engines as the previous model, which are also shared with the Creta. The diesel motor pumps out 126bhp of power and 260Nm of torque while the petrol motor produces 121bhp of power and 150Nm of torque. Both the engines are available with the option of a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic transmission.
