F1 2016: Mclaren-Honda MP4-31 revealed

After last year’s pilot run, the Mclaren Honda dream team are back and according to Mclaren Technology CEO Ron Dennis, the new MP4-31 is a set towards their ultimate ambition, which is to win. After last year’s campaign, through which the team struggled to remain reliable and competitive, from which they managed to slink away with a lowly ninth place. Mclaren , seem optimistic claiming that the stability in formula one regulations, has allowed them to strengthen and mature their design concepts since last year’s MP4-30. The 2016 car will also incorporate a number of significant developments over last year’s car. The result, according to them, is a remarkably elegant aerodynamic solution courtesy the highly space-efficient 2016 power unit. The team however have remained tight lipped about their predicted performance from the team, and remain sold on the fact that they will only properly be able to assess the information once the car gets a chance to go around the circuit at Catalunya. Visible changes to the MP4-31 would start with the nose is possible the shortest that we have seen, with an extreme slope leading to the back bulkhead, ending with the split S-duct, from last year. Big changes in the power unit, is that like the Ferrari and Mercedes powered machines, will get two waste gate exhausts on either side of the main exhaust.
