Jeep Grand Cherokee line-up revealed

The Indian line-up of the Grand Cherokee, produced by the Jeep division of FIAT Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), has been announced on the official website of Jeep, India. The luxury crossover SUV is available into three variants, Limited, Summit and SRT (Street and Racing Technology). SRT is the high performance division of  FCA which also tunes and produces vehicles for Chrysler and Dodge brands.

As for the Limited and the Summit variants, apart from a few differences, both share the 3.0-Litre V6 EcoDiesel engine mated to a 8 speed automatic transmission along with AWD system.

On the inside, both the variants get a 60:40 split rear folding seat, heated front and second row seats, two 12V power outlets, heated steering wheel, sunroof, steering wheel mounted controls, paddle shifters and tyre pressure monitoring sensor, to name a few. While the Limited variant is equipped with a 5-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 9 speakers, the Summit variant gets an 8.4-inch infotainment system with a 19 speakers 506-watt Harman Kardon audio unit, GPS navigation system and rear seat dual screen Blu-Ray/DVD player. Both the variants will come with a fuel tank capacity of 93.5 liters, having a claimed fuel efficiency figure of 12.8kmpl.

Whereas, on the outside, the Limited variant gets 18-inch polished aluminium wheels, the Summit gets low profile 20-inch all season tyres. The Limited will come with black-colored claddings and the Summit will come with body-colored claddings.

The SRT variant will be plonked with a massive 6.4-litre V8 engine that churns out 470bhp @ 6250rpm and a torque output of 624Nm @ 4100rpm. It is claimed to do the 0-100kmph sprint in 5 seconds and max out at 257kmph. As for braking, the 2.4tonne SUV is powered by Brembo high-performance brakes. On the inside, the SRT will feature a pair of aluminium pedals and SRT audio system. And on the outside, it will boast, large 295 section, 20-inch low profile 5-spoke brushed aluminium wheels.

The Grand Cherokee is slated to be launched later this year.
